Electrasim

An interactive wiring lab that behaves like the real thing. Place a breaker, run the cable, close the switch — and watch current actually flow, trip and fault.

Project

Overview

ElectraSim is an interactive browser-based electrical wiring simulator that lets users build, wire, and simulate real-world electrical circuits. Components such as switches, MCBs, RCDs, RCBOs, sockets, bulbs, fans, motors, and more behave dynamically, helping users understand how electrical systems work through hands-on practice.
01
Tension

Problem

Learning electrical wiring is heavily dependent on access to physical equipment, which can be expensive, unavailable, or unsafe for beginners. Traditional diagrams and theory also make it difficult to understand what actually happens when a circuit is powered, incorrectly wired, or develops a fault.
02
Approach

Solution

ElectraSim provides a safe, interactive environment where learners can build circuits directly in the browser and see the results in real time. Users can experiment with wiring, protection devices, switching, circuit faults, validation, guided exercises, and electrical calculations without needing physical equipment. The current 2.0 release specifically includes Challenge Mode, Diagnosis Lab, Fault Lab, Guided Circuits, validation, and the Electrical Toolbox.
03
Opportunity

Audience & market

Electrical apprentices and students, vocational and trade-school learners, instructors and training centres, DIY learners, hobbyists, and electricians who want a practical way to study, practise, or refresh electrical wiring concepts. This matches the documented target segments: apprentices/students, instructors, self-learners/hobbyists, and professional electricians.
04
Engine

Business model

ElectraSim is currently focused on growing its free product and user base. The platform is designed with future monetization opportunities around advanced learning features, professional tools, educational use, and potential classroom or cloud-based services as demand develops.
06
Proof

Traction

Launched publicly in May 2026 and has since evolved through multiple releases, with ElectraSim 2.0 launched in August 2026. The product has expanded from a basic wiring simulator into a broader electrical learning platform featuring Guided Circuits, interactive tutorials, Challenge and Fault modes, circuit validation, multi-standard electrical tools, cable sizing, and a growing library of educational content.
